ClankSkip is an Android app that skips songs by artists on a community list of AI-generated music. This policy explains what the app accesses and what, if anything, leaves your phone.

What the app reads

ClankSkip uses Android's notification access permission to see which song is playing in your music apps (artist, title and which app is playing). It does not read the content of your notifications.

What stays on your phone

Everything below is stored only on your device and is never uploaded:

• the songs and artists you're listening to
• your skip history
• artists and songs you've marked as AI or "Not AI"
• your settings

Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes all of it.

What is sent over the internet

• Downloading the blocklist. Every 6 hours the app downloads the list of AI artists from spot-the-ai.com. This request doesn't include any information about you or your listening.
• Reporting an artist. When you tap "Mark artist as AI" and reporting is turned on, the artist's name and a random ID are sent to spot-the-ai.com so the artist can be reviewed. The random ID is created when the app is installed and isn't linked to you, your device or any account. You can turn reporting off in Settings.

Nothing else is sent. The app has no ads, analytics, tracking or accounts.

Third parties

The blocklist and reports are handled by spot-the-ai.com, which is run independently of ClankSkip. See their site for how they handle report data.

Children

ClankSkip doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
